When I read your post (on the sly, as I am at work and the bosses frown on non-work related internet usage except at lunch), I was very surprised to see what you had written. I thought it would be a post about my upcoming foibles in the annual football pool, and yet it is a very sweet thank you to a person who, while articulate and a decent writer, never takes himself too seriously. So give me your address and I'll send the $50 check for all the good things you said! :-) I'll have to print a copy of this post for my wife so that she can see what a prize she's got!
