Honey Bees–What’s the big deal about the disapperance of honey bees? According to Elizabeth Kolbert, honey bees are important to polinating many of our crops, including fruits and nuts. Kolbert suggests that we should do everything we can to avoid further hurting the bee population, including eliminating herbicides and pesticides on our yards.

Plug-In Cars–Perhaps like me, you might have wondered how plug-in cars might help global warming when recharging the car still requires energy. According to Plug In Bay Area, using plug-in hybrids, even with the dirtiest energy like coal power, would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. More info here and the podcast here.
